Kallithea · Halkidiki
Kallithea & Halkidiki Guide
Aphrodite Studios sits in Kallithea, one of the liveliest villages on the Kassandra peninsula — the first of Halkidiki’s three “legs”. Here is what to expect from the village, the beaches around it, and the practical details of getting here.
Kallithea village
Kallithea combines a long sandy beach with the busiest nightlife on Kassandra: tavernas, cafés, bars and shops line the village centre, all within walking distance of the studios. History is close by too — the village is home to the ancient sanctuary of Ammon Zeus, right next to the beach. In summer the village is lively late into the night; the studios themselves sit back from the main strip, so evenings stay quiet.
Beaches
Kallithea’s own beach — sandy, organised with sunbeds and beach bars — is about 300 metres from Aphrodite Studios. Along the east coast of Kassandra you can try a different beach every day: Kriopigi and Polychrono to the south, and the long stretch at Pefkohori further on. On the west coast, Sani and Siviri offer calmer, shallower water — all within an easy drive.
Around the Kassandra peninsula
Afytos, a few kilometres north, is the peninsula’s prettiest village — stone houses on a bluff above the sea. Nea Fokea has its Byzantine tower and fishing harbour, Hanioti a lively pedestrian centre, and Pefkohori a long seafront promenade. A full loop of the peninsula makes an easy day trip, with beaches and tavernas at every stop.
Getting here
Thessaloniki airport (SKG) is roughly 90 km away — about an hour and a quarter by car, mostly on the fast Nea Moudania highway. Rental cars are available at the airport, and KTEL Halkidiki buses run from Thessaloniki to Kallithea in summer. Free private parking is available at the studios.
